Elgeyo Marakwet boasts one of the most spectacular stretches of the Great African Rift Valley, with one breath-taking view after another.

Most of the County‘s water comes from Cherangani Hills, which are partially covered by a dense rainforest of rosewood, podocarpus and African cedar trees wearing long, green beards of moss.


The adjacent Kerio Valley is a sharp contrast with impressive features such as scorching acacia bush.  


The Chebloch Gorge is a narrow pass of Kerio River lined with black basalt


Rimoi National Reserve, the only wildlife park of the County is home to herds of elephants and a true safari country!
